Motors and generators panel discussion: The transfer of electrical energy into work is most often done through the electric motor and generator. Understanding these rotating workhorses of industry, that must not only function electrically but mechanically as well, is often misunderstood by many electrical maintenance professionals. This panel discussion provided a wealth of knowledge and expertise on what to look for and how to test electrical machines. The latest testing technologies, the best practices in industry, and some “behind the curtain” facts on rotating machines were also discussed.

Panel member: Tom Bishop, P.E., EASA Senior Technical Support Specialist
Also in attendance: Linda Raynes, EASA President and CEO; and Kevin Toor, Chairman of the Board, EASA.
