Introduction to AC Motor Redesign (Part 1 of 3)

How a webinar works

All EASA Webinars are live events in which the audio is presented via toll-free telephone and the visuals are simultaneously transmitted over the Internet. Prior to the program, you will receive a toll-free telephone number for the audio portion, as well as a Web link and access code for the visual content. The presentation portion of the Webinar will last about 45 minutes, followed by about 15 minutes of questions and answers. During the question and answer portion, you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

What do I need?

To participate in the live Webinar, you will need:

a touch-tone telephone
a computer with Internet access
a compatible Web browser with Flash

A toll-free phone number for the audio portion of the Webinar is included with your registration fee (one phone connection per site). Web conferencing services will be provided by ReadyTalk.

Three-Part Series — AC Motor Redesign

This webinar is part of a three-part series that is intended to help the user understand and correctly apply EASA's Verification and Redesign Program. It explains basic fundamentals for successful redesign of AC motors: speed redesigns, redesign for different voltages and/or frequency, as well as concentric to lap changes. These webinars will guide the technician in the non-routine redesign requests, such as pole changes and two-speed redesigns.

This webinar covers the basics of AC motor design, including:

symmetry
coil pitch
identifying the poles (and speed) correctly

Also covered will be concepts such as pole-phase-group spacing, when a consequent-pole connection is not a good idea, and factors in circuit selection.

This webinar will be most useful for service center winders, engineers, supervisors and managers, especially those using the EASA AC Verification and Redesign program. The content will be beneficial for beginners through highly experienced personnel.

Webinar registration policies

Fees are per site, not per person, and include one telephone connection. To make the experience more enjoyable and to allow more than one person to participate, use of a speaker-phone is recommended.

Registrants who cancel will receive refunds only if the request is received at least 48 hours before the event is scheduled to begin. No refunds will be made to "No Shows."

EASA reserves the right to cancel Webinars if enrollment is insufficient. In such cases, EASA will notify registrants by phone, fax or e-mail at least 7 days in advance and fully refund their registration fees.

EASA also reserves the right to substitute instructors if a scheduled presenter is not available due to unforeseen circumstances.
