Motor Lubrication Cautions and TIps webinar

How a webinar works

All EASA Webinars are live events in which the audio is presented via toll-free telephone and the visuals are simultaneously transmitted over the Internet. Prior to the program, you will receive a toll-free telephone number for the audio portion, as well as a Web link and access code for the visual content. The presentation portion of the Webinar will last about 45 minutes, followed by about 15 minutes of questions and answers. During the question and answer portion, you will have the opportunity to ask questions.

What do I need?

To participate in the live Webinar, you will need:

a touch-tone telephone
a computer with Internet access
a compatible Web browser with Flash

A toll-free phone number for the audio portion of the Webinar is included with your registration fee (one phone connection per site). Web conferencing services will be provided by ReadyTalk.

Before registering for an EASA Webinar, please check to make sure you have:

Lubrication is a vital part of any machine that moves. Understanding the mechanism that grease and oil use to provide that lubrication is important so that the maximum life of the equipment can be achieved. This session will discuss ways to get the most benefit from the lubricant by choosing the proper oil or grease and properly maintaining the equipment. Critical to this process are compatibility, relubrication quantity and frequency, and avoiding contamination.

Who should attend?
The seminar will be most useful for service center and field technicians, service center managers, and engineers desiring to specify the proper lubricant and help motor users understand proper relubrication for the best effect.

About the presenter

Jim Bryan
EASA Technical Support Specialist

Jim Bryan is a technical support specialist with the Electrical Apparatus Service Association (EASA). Before joining EASA, Bryan worked for more than 20 years at Emerson Motor Company (Nidec Corporation) in St. Louis. While there, he held these positions:

Head product service engineer for the U.S. Motors Division (1988 to 1998)
Manager of Emerson’s product service department (1998 to 2007)
Quality manager of the Industrial Motors & Systems Division (2007 to May 2010)

Bryan’s work prior to his tenure at Emerson included 12 years as an electrician as well as service in the U.S. Air Force. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Webinar registration policies

Fees are per site, not per person, and include one telephone connection. To make the experience more enjoyable and to allow more than one person to participate, use of a speaker-phone is recommended.

Registrants who cancel will receive refunds only if the request is received at least 48 hours before the event is scheduled to begin. No refunds will be made to "No Shows."

EASA reserves the right to cancel Webinars if enrollment is insufficient. In such cases, EASA will notify registrants by phone, fax or e-mail at least 7 days in advance and fully refund their registration fees.

EASA also reserves the right to substitute instructors if a scheduled presenter is not available due to unforeseen circumstances.
