*Tips for Downloading pdf Files

To avoid problems when downloading an Acrobat pdf file to your Windows PC, save it to your desktop first. This copies the document to your hard drive. (Reading or printing pdf files using brower plugins can lock up your computer if the data is not transmitted fast enough from the Internet.)

To save any pdf file to your desktop:

  • Right click on the link (above).
  • Click "Save Link As" or "Save Target As" (depending on your browser).
  • A popup window then shows where the file is being saved.
  • Go to: Start--Program--Windows Explorer.
  • Scroll to the file you downloaded.

*

pdf, or portable document format, is a file type that is readable on all platforms regardless of system or browser. Adobe Acrobat Reader is the program that allows you to view these documents at your leisure. Click on the link below to download a free version of Acrobat Reader.
