Webinar recordings that I purchased will not play

Beginning with Flash Player version 23, released in mid-September 2016, Flash Player by default started blocking the playback of local Flash content on your hard drive.

To see what version of Flash Player you have installed, click here and then click the "CHECK NOW" button.

You can "unblock" the webinar recordings by adding their folder to the list of "Trusted Locations" in Flash Player.

Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari | Google Chrome

For Internet Explorer, Edge, Firefox, Opera and Safari:

IMPORTANT: We suggest that you create a folder in which you will store all your EASA webinar recordings, then using the procedure below, tell Flash Player that this folder is "trusted" for the playback of local Flash content.

On the affected computer, go to the Flash Player Settings Manager:

  • Mac: System Preferences > Flash Player
  • Windows: Control Panel > Flash Player

Select the ADVANCED tab.

In the Developer Tools section, click the TRUSTED LOCATION SETTINGS button.

Click the "ADD..." button.

Click "ADD FOLDER" then select the folder where you will be storing all of your EASA Webinar Recordings.

Click CONFIRM and close all windows and tabs that may be open.

From this point on, any Flash-based webinar recording in this designated folder will be playable.

IMPORTANT! Be sure to always place any new EASA webinar recordings into the same folder that you designated during this procedure.

IMPORTANT: We suggest that you create a folder in which you will store all your EASA webinar recordings, then using the procedure below, tell Flash Player that this folder is "trusted" for the playback of local Flash content.

Attempt to run one of the Flash-based EASA webinar recordings. All Flash-based recordings are started by clicking on a file called "Click_here_to_start.html". If you are unable to play a Flash recording, you will see a black screen.

Take note of the URL that appears in your web browser. This URL will provide the name of the folder where you have chosen to store your webinar recordings. In the example below, we have decided to store our webinar recordings in a folder called "EASA Webinars" that happens to be located on our computer's desktop (you may choose to store your recordings elsewhere). Highlight this folder location with your mouse and copy it. Do not select the entire URL shown in the window, only the folder.

Next, right click anywhere in the black screen, then click GLOBAL SETTINGS. In the window that opens, click (1) GLOBAL SECURITY SETTINGS PANEL, (2) check ALWAYS ALLOW, click the (3) EDIT LOCATIONS dropdown menu, then select ADD LOCATION.

In the resulting popup window, paste the folder location you copied earlier from your web browser. In the example below, we've pasted the location of our EASA Webinars folder. Click CONFIRM.

The folder location should now appear in the GLOBAL SECURITY SETTINGS PANEL.

You may now close down this web browser window. Return to your EASA webinar recording, refresh the web browser window and the recording should play.

IMPORTANT! Be sure to always place any new EASA webinar recordings into the same folder that you designated during this procedure.
