Join us in Milwaukee, Wisconsin!
Once known mostly for manufacturing and big breweries, Milwaukee has reinvented itself. Now known as a “mini-Chicago,” as locals like to say, Milwaukee provides all the benefits of it’s much larger neighbor, but at a fraction of the cost!
As the largest city in the state of Wisconsin, and the fifth largest in the Midwest, Milwaukee is experiencing its biggest construction boom since the 1960s. Major additions to the city include the Milwaukee Riverwalk, the Wisconsin Center, Miller Park, a major expansion to the Milwaukee Art Museum (which is featured on one of our tours), the Milwaukee Repertory Theater and Pier Wisconsin. The currently under-construction Wisconsin Entertainment and Sports Center is scheduled to open in 2018. All of these additions have made Milwaukee a major cultural and entertainment destination. In fact, you may want to extend your stay in Milwaukee and attend the annual Summerfest music festival! With 11 stages and 800 acts, Summerfest attracts one million people and has been recognized as the largest music festival in the world.
Milwaukee’s location on the Great Lakes can often bring rapidly changing weather. Summer temperatures are generally humid with temperatures in the upper 80s (and occasionally hit the low 90s), but afternoon lake breezes help keep temperatures down. Light summer wear is the general rule for outdoor activities.
We hope you'll make plans to join your fellow EASAns for what will surely be an informative and fun event!
